Disclaimer And Privacy Policy For The Bossy Kitchen

As the owner of The Bossy Kitchen LLC (thebossykitchen.com, referred to as the “Site”), I know your privacy is extremely important.
This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect when you visit the Site and how I use and disclose that information.

WHO I AM

I’m Gabriela Baumgartner, the creator behind The Bossy Kitchen.
When I say “I,” “me,” or “my,” I’m referring to The Bossy Kitchen (https://www.thebossykitchen.com/) and its owner.
My goal is to share recipes, cooking tips, and other food-related content with my readers.

I respect your privacy and I am committed to protecting it. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you what personally identifiable information I may collect and how it may be used. This statement only applies to this website.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I COLLECT

I may collect information from you in a few ways:

    • Comments: When you leave a comment, I collect your name, email address, and anything else you share in the comment.
    • Email Subscriptions: When you subscribe to newsletters or updates, I collect your email address.
    • Contact Forms: When you submit a query or feedback, I collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

    • Log Data: My servers or hosting platform may automatically log your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, and other technical data.
    • Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to help the Website function, remember preferences, and serve relevant ads.
  3. From Third Parties

    • Ad Network (Raptive) collect information to serve you personalized ads.

HOW I MIGHT USE YOUR INFORMATION

I may use the information collected in the following ways:

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

HOW DO I PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

  • I do use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.
  • I only provide articles and information.
  • I do use Malware Scanning.
  • I do use an SSL certificate.

DATA RETENTION & SECURITY

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

I keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes outlined in this policy or to comply with legal obligations. I take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, theft, or misuse.
Keep in mind that no method of transmission over the internet is guaranteed 100% secure.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

THIRD-PARTY USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

I may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorize me to share your information.

Additionally, the website may use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the Website.

Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies.

I use the following:

WordPress: By default, WordPress does not collect any analytics data. However, many web hosting accounts collect some anonymous analytics data.

Akismet Disclaimer: We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service.

The information I collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter's IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Google Analytics: I use Google Analytics to collect information about how you use the Website. This includes pages visited, time on site, and actions taken.Google Analytics also provides me with demographic details (like approximate location) but does not reveal your exact address or identity. Really Simple SSL: Really Simple SSL and Really Simple SSL add-ons do not process any personal identifiable information, so the GDPR does not apply to these plugins or the usage of these plugins on your website. You can find their privacy policy here.

Contact form- creates contact forms for users of the blog. With the default configuration, this plugin, in itself, does not:

  • track users by stealth; write any user personal data to the database; send any data to external servers; use cookies.

Cloudflare: The Bossy Kitchen uses Cloudflare for website security and caching. Any personal information obtained by Cloudflare is not shared with any third parties.

However, certain features in this plugin, like reCAPTCHA and Akismet, use the contact form submitter’s personal data, including their IP address, to protect the website. Here you have the Privacy policy for each of these features:

  • reCAPTCHA (Google)
  • Akismet (Automattic)

Kit – On the Website, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels.

The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click.

Also, this allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.This service is used for the delivery of email updates and newsletters. I store your name and email address for purposes of delivering such communications.  Please refer to Kit’s privacy policy for further information. At this time, your personal information is not shared with any other third-party applications. This list may be amended from time to time at the Website’s sole discretion.

Except when required by law, I will not sell, distribute, or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your consent; however, I may disclose or transfer personal information collected through the Website to third parties who acquire all or a portion of our business, which may be the result of a merger, consolidation, or purchase of all or a portion of our assets, or in connection with any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding brought by or against us.

PROGRAMMATIC ADVERTISING

Raptive

This Site is affiliated with CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. Comments- When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
