Add the vegetable oil, cold water, and vanilla extract, and keep mixing. On the recipe page, there are many notes and tips!
Mix the flour and baking powder together and add them to the batter. Optional, add the chopped nuts.
Split the batter into two parts. Use one part to mix it with the cocoa powder. Set aside.
Pour the other half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add the cocoa batter on top of the white mixture.

Bake at 350F for 30-45 minutes or until the toothpick comes clean and the loaf is golden brown on top.
Carefully remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack to cool. Slice the bread with a serrated knife and serve at room temperature.
