It is that time of the year when perhaps we have more guests around the house. Some of them maybe stay overnight, therefore we have more meals to prepare. This recipe of easy banana doughnuts is an awesome way to use ripe bananas that are sitting around. It is also a great recipe to put together for a brunch. Are you a grandma and kids are coming over for a visit? Make these!
It is a fast snack to make while they are around. I remember visiting my grandma, when I was a child, who would disappear in the kitchen and show up back in the living room carrying always a platter of either doughnuts or crepes that she would make in no time. I do not remember anything better than these treats at her house and how happy she was to make them for us.
One thing I want to stress. This blog is about foods that I grew up with, easy, simple recipes that I love to share with you. I am very into the way my previous generations used to eat. Lots of foods in United States are so conveniently cheap, that many of us do not care what is in them anymore. Call me obsessed, but I saw the regular labels for doughnuts and I got scared. Probably 90% of the ingredients are chemicals that are hard to pronounce. Nothing from these doughnuts is healthy, which made the doughnut in general to become a food that everyone thinks is evil to eat.
I am all for eating healthier but I think we need to have everything in moderation in general. These doughnuts are fried, yes, but if you think about the ones you buy at the grocery store, I prefer a good homemade fried doughnut anytime. I know, I am no fun at all!
Packed with nutritious bananas, these easy, fluffy doughnuts are just what you need in the morning, or as a snack during the day without the guilt. Enjoy and let’s make some real doughnuts! Oh, yes!
