Today(still on vacation in Transylvania) l decided to pick up some apples from the tree, add some sugar and make a little marmalade for breakfast. This is what l came up with. I had only a knife to dice the apples. The marmalade is glossy and delicious and everyone enjoyed it. #latesummervacation #apples #villagelife #Transylvania #simplelife #simplelifehappylife #applejam #simplebreakfast #lifeisgood...
This summer is a little weirder than past summers because we are spending so much of it indoors. But that should not stop us from making some of our favorite summer recipes.
This weekend I made a sour cherry pie with a classic pie crust. The pictures don't do it justice. The juice went everywhere when I tried to take pictures of it...but let me tell you...my family loved it and could not get enough of it. Try it and let me know what your loved ones say!

During these hot summer months everyone says to drink lots of liquids, but sometimes water can get boring. So the other day, I decided to make this refreshing cucumber ginger and lavender lemonade. We now have a big batch in the fridge and we can't get enough of it.
My husband even put a little whiskey in it the other night for a nightcap. It was so delicious! You can add gin too and make a refreshing summer cocktail.

The Pound Cake with Fruits and Almond Flakes (Pandispan) is a delicious recipe that can be made all year round using fresh in season or frozen fruit. The cake is not very sweet, but it is delicate and full of flavor. Cherries are the best if you combine them with almonds.
In Romania, especially in the summer, when you visit someone, they will serve you with a little piece of pandipsan and a cup of coffee.
